We have hired acclaimed Syrian director Omar Abusaada to work on the project. He has experience of working in prisons and refugee camps in Egypt and Iraq with both Syrian and Palestinian refugees.
He will work closely with Syrian playwright Mohammad Al Attar.. He has taken his work around the globe from London to New York, New Delhi, Tunisia and Berlin.
Together these two very talented individuals will document the stories of the 30-40 Syrian women that will be told during the workshops. They will then work to blend their personal stories of Syria into the text of Antigone. The result will be a 21st century Syrian adaptation of the ancient Greek text.
